Period - A.D. 1200 - 1521

 

Local - Mexico City, Mexico

 

Culture - Chichimeca, Tolteca, Mexica, Aztec

 

Religion - Various doctrines, rituals, and spirituality.  Deities, Gods, and Goddesses played such an important role in daily life that religion (as a concept) did not exist, religion was the norm.

 

Subsistence & Economics - Advance agriculture and local & regional market exchange.  The most exotic gifts such as jade, textiles, marine ecofacts, and quetzal feathers went to members of the noble family.  See image 1A-1B.

 

Political Structure - At it's height - City States with various levels of government "noble"  paying tribute to three capitals; Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Tlacopan.
